I recently downloaded the uberstudent-4.0-xfce-i386.iso file. After starting from the dvd it asks me to sign in. But what are the username and password?

I tried many, for ex. uberstudet, anonymous, student .... But I did not find the rigth username/password. Neither can I find any readme.txt os other advice either from the disk nor from Über Students pages :o

There absolutely should not be any username or password you are asked for. Please make sure you download UberStudent from only it's sole official download source (where you will also see a README.txt file staring at you). ;)

Also, please review the sections "Download the ISO File" and "Verify the ISO File" from the Beginner's Guide for tips on ensuring that the ISO file downloads without error (use a download manager) and for ensuring that it has absolute integrity (check the hash string of the downloaded ISO).

Once you have re-downloaded the ISO and verified the hash string of it, please let me know if you're still having live disc or installation issues.

Sorry, I have been too lazy to learn that method. Sometimes I use md5-test or whatever its name is

But now I succeeded to install ŨberStudent 4. I simply started the installation by not testing the live-format first. And now I have it and like it - but need more time to investigate all of the fine programs included.
:)

This is just what I wanted to ask!

The steps I followed were:
* Download the ISO file from the Sourceforge UberStudent page using DownThemAll (and the md5 file too)
* Check with md5sum.exe (on Windows)
* Do a bootable USB with UNetbootin
* Restart from USB

And YES, it appears a screen asking for an username and a password!
What to do?

Thanks.

I cannot replicate the issue on any of my computers yet suspect it may be an ubiquity installer bug that is perhaps related to certain uncommon hardware. This will not be something I can fix in my usual bug-fix time frame of "24 hours or less, often much less, sometimes much less." I will investigate this over the next few days and post here again. Ultimately, fixing this may require a minor point-release fix, which will take me a day to create and make available after I figure out any issue with ubiquity. Meanwhile, you evidently may choose the Install Directly option and currently avoid the issue altogether.

Ok. I suppose this little detail will not impair the final result of installation.
Thanks!

It's so strange!! :o

Booting from USB and choosing from the menu 2nd & 3rd rows "UberStudent...", it sends me to the login screen, while choosing 1st row "Default" everything runs ok. Once there I began to install, but then appeared a dialog notifying something like "installer has failed". I have to say this happened too 2 or 3 times when I was installing version 3.0.
Also, I did an "integrity check" before.

Later, I selected to install directly and apparently all was fine. I restarted, and after writing my password only got a black screen!! :o

Reboot again, and now I find live-USB does NOT work!!! Instead of the graphic login screen there is a command line one regardless the selected row, 1, 2 or 3, in the UNetbootin menu.

What happens? What am I doing wrong? :?
