Hey all,

I looked around the forum here, and did not see this addressed. In web searches I found that different incarnations have different methodologies for installing to ensure that the Linux install respects the same fake-RAID as the existing windows install, but did not find UberStudent addressed anywhere.

That said, I am wondering how to install UberStudent on my desktop with fake raid used.

I am aware that software raid is either as good or superior in both Linux and win7 and above, but I want to hold off on a complete back up and reinstall of my desktop for now, while still having UberStudent available.

Hopefully this thread can be used by others too.

Thank you in advance.

I have absolutely zero experience with RAID, so I'm hoping another can assist.... :)

Do you reckon it would be identical to doing it in Ubuntu 12.04?
If so, I can just follow such a tutorial.

It definitely should be the same - whatever would apply to one should apply to the other.

I thought I saw somewhere on here that the newest release is based on Ubuntu 12.04lts. Am I remembering correctly?

This seems like the right spot to find out about UberStudent installs on fakeRAID:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto

But it is different for each Ubuntu install release, apparently.
