[Using Chromium 41.0.2272.76]

When trying to view videos on cnn.com all the videos seem to play choppy and not in real time. If I open Firefox to the same video/videos no issues plays just fine in real time per say.

YouTube on the other hand plays just fine in both browsers.

Not a big issue for me but I have machines setup in a community center with a guest account configured for public use and Chromium is the default browser and on the Panel for quick access and sometimes these users are not clever enough to try a different browsers when problems are encountered.

Running UberStudent 4.1 with ALL updates current...HP Core2Duo 4GBRAM 70GIG HD no proprietary drivers.

Any suggestions appreciated thank you !

It's likely an issue with cnn.com being behind-the-times in supporting the WebKit rendering engine that underlays Chromium/Chrome, Safari, etc., but you can try creating a new Chromium profile and see if you still get the same issues.

1. Exit Chromium
2. Run the following in a terminal:
mv $HOME/.config/chromium $HOME/.config/chromium.bak

3. Go to Applications menu > System > Internet & Network > Chromium Profile Wipe and run the script
4. Open Chromium again and test it with cnn.com videos

If the issue remains, you can assume that cnn.com is the problem. You can then restore your old Chromium profile by exiting Chromium and running in a terminal the following
rm -rf $HOME/.config/chromium && mv $HOME/.config/chromium.bak $HOME/.config/chromium

Tried all the steps you suggested and still the same results.

cnn.com needs to catch up with technology.

Thanks for your suggestions.
