Stephen,
One of the [many] features of UberStudent version 1.x that made it my favorite Linux distro was the intuitive organization of the menus; you took the time to organize every application based on function into a category that made sense. Linux newbies to whom I recommended it found the applications easy to find. With some applications now being in a desktop specific menu instead of a functionally appropriate menu, version 2.x (at least for XFCE) is lacking that previous intuitive menu organization. This lack of intuitive organization significantly reduces my comfort with recommending UberStudent 2.x to Linux newbies (such as financially strapped college students who need a computer but not a Windows OS). My request is that there will be at least 2.0.4.3-xfce versions (amd64 and i386) of UberStudent where there is no XFCE menu but rather every application is in a submenu relevant to its functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion, Damion.

The Applications menu is categorized as it was in 1.0. So you're speaking specifically of the System menu, which is in fact different in 2.0.

I'm building a new XFCE version right now, based on Ubuntu 12.10.

I'll see if I can implement your suggestion. :geek:

I see that UberStudent 2.10 has the intuitively organized menus again, so thank you for that Stephen. It seems to have a lot of polish in general. I will happily be recommending UberStudent 2.10 to Linux newbies.
