This install is performed on a new Toshiba Satellite Notebook model C75D-B7220 , 1 TB Hard Drive , 8 Gb Ram . 1)Create a backup disc of your windows 8.1 operating system. You can do this by going to Search (type in ) Recovery Media Creator .i needed 3-4.7 gb discs for this. 2) Download a copy of Uberstudent 64 bit. Then burn image to disc.1-4.7 gb disc or a usb stick is required. 3)Disable fast start up. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > System Settings > choose what the button does > and uncheck the "Turn on Fast Start Up." 4)Disable Secure Boot . go to the top right corner of your desktop with your pointer .this produces your charms. Charms > Settings > Change PC Settings > Update and Recovery > Recovery > restart now > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options >UEFI Firmware Settings >restart >Security >you will see that the secure boot is enabled . Disable Secure Boot >Save changes and exit . restart 5)Now it is time to install Uberstudent. Charms >Settings > >Change PC Settings >Update and Recovery > Recovery > Advanced Start Up >Restart now > Use a Device . Choose either the DVD or USB whichever you copied Uberstudent to. Uberstudent takes over from here.Just follow the prompts. 6)After install is complete you will have to restart your pc.When you get to your desktop go to the blue chevron and install your updates. Then go to the welcome screen and install your codecs. 7 ) To get wifi I had to use a usb wifi stick . Happy learning.

We can probably get your native wireless working, if you wish.

Run these lines in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install inxi
inxi -v7 -c 0 > inxiinfo.txt

Attach the inxiinfo.txt file, which will be located in your home directory, to your next post.

UPDATE: What this does is print a list of the hardware on your machine. It does not fix the wireless. For a system in which wireless is not working out-of-the-box (a very rare thing), it is essential for me to know exactly what the hardware is if I am to help get it working. :geek:

To get the wi-fi working ,Applications menu>System>Hardware>Driver manager>type in your password (its working ,takes about 45 seconds for the Driver Manager to open up on your desktop)under Broadcom Corporation check, bcmwl-kernel source, also check xserver-xorg-video-ati (recommended),click apply changes. then go to the internet icon on the top right of your screen . click it , choose your wifi .enter your wi-fi password and your back on line. :D
