Are you on version 3.0?

If a hardware's support is in Ubuntu, it's in UberStudent. There is zero difference on that regard.

Try this: on the icon tray, right click on the network icon. Uncheck the wireless. Then right click again and re-check it. Now right click on it again and the network should be displayed and you can connect.

If that does not work you may need a proprietary driver. Go to Applications > System > Hardware > Proprietary Driver Manager and run the program.

OK got it thanks, I had to unplug my LAN cable for that Icon to show up, the wifi was unavailable during USB/Boot

Okay, good. Wireless is available to connect to during USB installation but not if you have a LAN plugged in. It will by default ask if you want to connect if you are only near a wireless network, but will by default connect through the LAN without even asking if it is plugged in.

I am trying to follow this but I do not have an "enable wifi" option on my network drop-down menu. Any suggestions?

1. Go to Applications > System > Hardware > System Profiler and Benchmark > Generate Report > Network
2. Attach the resulting html file here

I'm having the same problem, running Uberstudent 4.0 on a Dell Inspiron.

I tried to attach the System_report but "The upload was rejected because the uploaded file was identified as a possible attack vector."

So below is an attempt to paste the info, hope it is not too garbled up

Thanks for any help!

In 4.0 it is a bit different. When you left-click the network icon on the top-right panel, do you not see something like this with the available wireless points near you?
