UberStudent is a great disto.

However will the ia32 libraries be available from the repository so that I can install Codeweavers package?

Hi, and thanks. :)

I believe the package you need is ia32-libs. It's in the repo.

Let me know if this meets your question. :)

Thank you for the prompt response

When I tried to download the ia32-libs the installer messages indicated that there were missing dependencies - even when using dpkg. I was unable to get past this point.

Could you please verify is the 32 bit libraries are available, of if they can be downloaded from other sources.

Does viewtopic.php?f=5&t=43 fix the issue?

That issue is now fixed in the available UberStudent 2.0.4.1 ISO.

In your case, you'd run wine-fix.sh there and then try to install Codeweavers.

Let me know if this fixes your issue.

Stephen,

I have run the script, but got the following result
------------------------------
sudo: set: command not found
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
xserver-xorg-core is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 12 not upgraded.
make: /etc/apt/preferences: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/etc/apt/preferences'. Stop.
/home/warren/Documents/wine-fix.sh: 5: /home/warren/Documents/wine-fix.sh: cannot create /etc/apt/preferences: Permission denied
warren@warren-Invalid-entry-length-0-DMI-table-is-broken-Stop:~$
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do I have a broken installation?
Should i download the latest disto?

Did you run it as root with sudo? It doesn't appear so.

But yes, just using the latest ISO avoids all this.

Are you already using the 2.0.4.1 ISO?

I'm stumped then. The script fixes the issue in a 2.0.4 clean installation. There is no need to fiddle with this fix in 2.0.4.1, which is now the default download at SourceForge.
