Wondering if anyone has attached UberStudent to an Active Directory Domain. I've never connected any type of Linux to an AD and while I've found some various applications/HOWTO's for doing so I wanted to know if anyone has had success with this using UberStudent specifically.

Failing that, any "generic" recommendations would be appreciated.

cheers
mark

Hello

There are 2 tools that will help.
First is Apache Directory Studio - its a java app that will show you the OU structure of the domain. It will help you distinguish between CN and OU values for the connection
http://directory.apache.org/studio/downloads.html MAC, Linux and Windows versions.

Second is Likewise which is a simple GUI tool that will help configure the connection.
You need to know your OU structure as not all are as simple as they could be. Your user account could be in a top level user folder, or way down a departmental OU path.
Check synaptic for likewise-open

It will also help to have a friendly domain admin - unless you are that person of course

Good luck
