First off let me complement the team on such a quality Distro. I plan to write more about my impressions a little bit later but right now I have run into a problem. Dropbox will not install. I run the script from the accessories-> file utilities menu and it asks for the root password and seems to run and install it but when I go to find it so I can log in it is no where to be found. I have tried to start it from the command line as well and it tell me that it is not installed.

This is a must app for me and would be a show stopper so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill,

Definitely a must have program!
did you try installing the .deb file from the dropbox website?

Wow! Thanks for such a quick reply.

No I didn't try the dep package because I was thinking that the script was doing something different. I did how ever try and install it from the software center and got an error of unresolved dependencies.

I now have tried to install it from your link and I got this error:

"Error: Cannot install 'libgtk2.0-0:i386'"

"Dropbox integration for Nautilus
Nautilus Dropbox is an extension that integrates the Dropbox web service with your GNOME Desktop.
Check us out at http://www.dropbox.com/ "

Thanks
Bill

Bill, which UberStudent ISO did you install, so I can investigate whatever might have broken.

To get you going right away, and because it sounds like you're probably using a 64bit version; so, get the 64bit Dropbox version here.

Stephen thank your link worked very nicely. I installed uberstudent-2.0.4.1-desktop-amd64, it was the only iso file I saw that had what I thought both desktops.

On a side note the "Run Program" off the main menu does not work either. All it does is display the icon in the app tray at the bottom of the screen. I did a little t/s and ran the command in a terminal and this is what came back. "/usr/share/uberstudent-getap/mate-run-open.sh: 5: /usr/share/uberstudent-getap/mate-run-open.sh: xte: not found" Hope this helps some.

Thank you and David for such quick support, I'm very impressed. Bill

You're welcome !
I did not answer your reply because I had to get some sleep (it was 01:30 am here in France when I replied ;) )
Most important is that you got Dropbox running. :geek:
