Post subject:  [SOLVED]: Mount failed for selinuxfs on /sys/fs/selinux

Hi
Greetings to the community by a new member.

I installed Uber Student 4.1 64 bit on my laptop without difficulty.
This is not my first Linux distribution installed on this laptop: I created some partitions in order to host more than one operating system, and all worked up to now.
On the first reboot of Uber Student, it didn't boot. The only error message displayed was:
"Mount failed for selinuxfs on /sys/fs/selinux: no such file or directory"

Grub (installed on MBR automatically by Uber Student during the operating system's installation) works, and I can boot the other distros, but not Uber Student.
I tried a new installation, after a format of the partition, and I got the same result.
What could be happened?

Thanks for your help.

Would one of the those other operating systems be Fedora-based?

Please take this step: Place the UberStudent 4.1 install medium in to your drive, boot in to it, and from the Applications > System > Administration menu run Boot Repair. Select "recommended repair" and give it time to run. When it's done, reboot.

Hi Stephen, thanks for your replay.

Boot Repair didn't fix the issue, because it only made a:
#grub-install /dev/sda (referring to the distro hosted in the first partition)
#update-grub

(All this I made before posting here, and unfortunately didn't work, neither the first nor the second time)

Luckily I found the cause of this issue. My laptop is not UEFI compatible, and therefore the boot with the default kernel 3.13.0-37-generic.efi.signed doesn't work, but the boot with the 3.13.0-37-generic works perfectly.
Each boot I only have to choose the second one, or even remove the first kernel EFI signed.

Hoping that this will be helpful to those who have a PC with windows 7 or otherwise without the UEFI support.

:)

Please let me know the exact make and model of your machine. The ubiquity installer should not have even installed the efi kernel in your case.

I agree with you; in fact this is the first time this happened, and this is not the first 64 bit distro I installed on this laptop.
