I can boot into US 4.0 from USB and it runs fine on my HP Pavilion laptop computer, except that the lengthy network key needs to be repeated manually each time I log in.
I need to run some critical Windows applications from time to time (e.g. connecting a USB to CAN adapter to reprogram expensive electronic motor controllers) so I need to keep Windows.
Therefore I thought I might install US 4.0 as dual boot together with Windows 8.1 but that's where the problem starts.
I booted from USB and then clicked the "Install Uberstudent" icon on the desk top. I all seems to progress as expected until the "Installation Type" window appears. It claims that the computer currently has no detected operating system. It does however have Windows 8.1 on it, and it is an installation that has taken much time to set up.
How can I install dual-boot US4 without wrecking the existing Windows 8.1 installation?
