It's so strange!!Dear Frend! That strange things happen with computers is quite common. I have about 50 years of experience with computers in universities as a user (I am a geographer).
First: Give us a bit more information about your computer. Anything you find. So we can continue the discussion.
And then: Forget the USB-installation. Simply download the iso-file and burn it to a dvd. It's adviced well in the UberStudent's page. Then simply start pushing "Enter".
What happens to me - that you see from the picture:
By the way, when I try to submit a 56.2 kB (56,218 bytes) jpg-file, the message appears
Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.
But try again, this time choosing from the menu:"Install UberStudent"

I think I didn't explain clearly. I tried to install two times, one failed from live system and the other, apparently successful, by choosing directly "Install UberStudent".
My laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad N585 with processor 64-bit AMD E1 1.40 GHz and 2 Gb in RAM, running Windows 8 and, until yesterday, UberStudent 3.0 (with which I also had some installation issues)
Later I will try to install again...
