Did you check the MD5 checksum?

I just found that the Uberstudent 4.0 file I just downloaded was very incomplete, only 1,096,488kb instead of 2.8Gb.

Your download is somehow becoming corrupted by being interrupted. This can sometimes happen with large files, especially if you have a dynamic IP. I strongly recommend a download manager, such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... wnthemall/

The ISO files uploaded perfectly yesterday. 40 minutes ago I finished downloading the amd64 and i386 ISOs directly from Sourceforge and installed both of them just now without issue.

The ubiquity slideshow error is entirely trivial, as are 99% or so of other "errors" in Linux. It installs just fine if you give it the required time. UberStudent is not a barebones system and it will take longer to complete installation than what you might be used to with barebones Linux distros. I just right now again finished installing without issue both the amd64 and i386 versions of 4.0, downloaded directly from SourceForge.

My second download attempt went fine, MD5 matches.
Have not installed it yet.
