 Post subject: Boot Splash

When upgrading to Ubuntu, with linux 3.5.0-19, my laptop will not start, the screen goes black just display the phrase: "could not start boot splash: Can not access a needed shared library".
Laptop Gateway NV53, AMD ATHLON II X2 M300

I have no clue if this is going to help or not... I would wait for Mr.Ewen, but if you want to give it a try, try this

sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-text && sudo apt-get remove plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text

If you can get a terminal screen, if you can't, i think it's control alt f6

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried, but without success, what I did was disable the proprietary ATI/AMD Proprietary FGLRX graphics driver and uberstudent starts smoothly but when I reactivate the driver FGLRX, again the same problem come back , do you have any suggestions.

I managed to uninstall the proprietary driver, accessing to Uberstudent via a previous version: Ubuntu with linux 3.2.0-41 generic pae, but without driver I'm very limited.
