I recently stumbled upon this distro and was very eager to take it out for a spin because it seemed to fit my needs perfectly fine.
Therefore thanks for your work Stephens!
I downloaded the actual image 'uberstudent-2.10-1-desktop-i386.iso' from sourceforge and put it on my usb-drive using unetbootin - after I successfully verified the md5-checksum.
When I boot from my usb-drive everything looks fine (GRUB works, how it's supposed to).
But I seem to get stucked on the login-screen. I tried any User/Pass combination I could think of but got allways rejected. (of cause I also tried "uberstudent"/'blank', like it's stated in the Readme)
I understood I need to boot into the live-system to install uberstudent properly, so I didn't try this yet.
Do you have any suggestions / ideas how I could accomplish to login into the live-system?

password: leave blank and press enter
should absolutely work.
Is you keyboard mapped to standard English? In other words, when you type uberstudent are you really typing uberstudent?
3.0 will not require any login for the Live Disc.
