Scott, from Wisconsin, Currently a student at Mid-State Technical College, Renewable Energy Specialist, Photo-voltaic Technical Adviser A.A.S. Graduate May 11th this year.
Been trying to find an os that is fast, no more windows.. been a linux user for 2 years. , linux mint 17 cinnamon, Ubuntu, Tried one called DEEPIN a chinese distro beautiful os but support is chinese.
Linux mint seems the friendliest and easiest so far , Thought I would try Uber student 4.1 to see if it is a better fit for me.
I have encountered 1 issue thus far. after sleeping the panels do not seem to want to come out of hiding, for now i have them on show .will have to explore this forum for answers

Hi Scott, and welcome!
Your panel issue appears to be a known bug, and appears to have been fixed in the upstream code, but I am still evaluating the new release of Xfce before deciding whether to release it in to UberStudent.
For now, the following should be a quick workaround for your non-displaying panels after coming out of sleep:
1. Download this script to your desktop:
panel-r.sh [27 Bytes]
Downloaded 425 times
2. Right-click on it and go to Properties > Permissions and tick "Allow this file to run as a program"
3. Whenever your panels refuse to show, just left-click it to run it. It simply restarts the Xfce panel. Takes less than a second.
BTW, I work at NTC in Wausau.
