I'm not sure if it can be done , or if its here somewhere and i just haven't found it.. I am looking for a way to launch http://www.codecademy.com/learn from the Applications bar, I would prefer it to be with my science and math. My alternative is to just bookmark it in Firefox and open it that way. Suggestions? I enrolled in a python course .

To add an icon, click this in the Launcher Properties dialog:

A Code Academy icon is at http://www.ceviu.com.br/blog/wp-content ... cademy.png - before adding it, put it somewhere permanent and then reduce it to 48x48 pixels.
xdg-open http://anywebsite.comwill open the site in whatever is your default browser. You can instead type in
chromium http://anywebsite.comor any other browser.

In the Menu Editor which Stephen shows in his screenshot above you can see a Subject of Computer Science, which will have Python listed but unchecked; if you add checkmarks for Python it will become an option in the Applications menu.
Under Computer Science you will also notice Geany, which is an IDE you can use to write programs [Python or otherwise].

In the Chromium browser under Customize/Control (upper right, three-bars icon) > More tools is an option to Create application shortcut; this will create a launcher icon on your desktop. Right-click on the new icon and then go to Properties > Launcher; the Command field will contain something like:
/usr/bin/chromium-browser --app=http://www.codecademy.com/...which will launch the website in a streamlined window. You can use this alternative command in the Command field that Stephen shows in his screenshot above.
